What do you Need?

- You will also need a Xbox One console as well as a cable to connect your console to Windows 10 PC. You can either go for wireless connection or wired connection, but we would recommend you to have a wired connection with the console to experience lag free streaming.
- You also need to make sure that the firmware of both your PC and console is upgraded to the latest version. If you do not know how to do that, we have a step below which you can follow in order to upgrade the firmware on both of the devices.
- You will also need an Xbox controller for navigation through the interface. You can not use mouse or touchscreen to navigate through Xbox menus on your PC.
- A Micro USB cable for connection.
Steps to Play Xbox One Games on PC
Updating the Firmware
The first thing that you need to make sure so that you can play Xbox One games on your PC, is that you have the latest firmware installed on both your console and machine. This is a very crucial step and should not be ignored because you won’t be able to proceed with the process if you do not complete it.
One simple way to update your Windows PC is to click on Cortana and the ask her to “Check for Updates”. If there are any new updates available for download, it will show you the option to update it. You can check for updates in your console by going into Settings and then to Systems and then into Console Info. If there is any latest version available, you will be able to download it from there. However, you will have to make sure that both your PC as well as the console is connected to the internet for downloading the updates.

Enable Game Streaming
You will have to enable the Game streaming on your Xbox console. In most of the console, the setting is disabled by default. In order to enable it, you will have to go to your Xbox settings and then to Preferences. There you are going to find an option Game DVR & streaming. Go into that and then select the option “game streaming to other devices”.
Connecting your PC to Xbox
To connect your PC and console, you will have to open the default Xbox application present in your Windows PC. You will have to add your console to your devices. In order to do that, click on the Connection icon that you can find just above the Gear icon in your Xbox application. You will be able to see a list of available devices available for connection on the screen. In case you are not able to see the lost, you will have to enter your console’s IP address in your PC manually. To get the IP address of your console, you need to go to your console’s Settings and then to Network. There you will be able to find an option named Advanced Settings. You will be able to see the console’s IP address on the screen.
Connecting the Xbox controller to PC
Connecting your Xbox console to your PC won’t connect the Xbox controller as well. However, connecting the controller to PC is not at all a tough task. Similar to Xbox console, you can connect the Xbox controller to PC through a USB cable wire or wirelessly. But to connect it wirelessly, you will need the Xbox one Wireless Adapter for Windows.
However, things are a bit different with the new Xbox One S controller which already possess a built-in Bluetooth driver which could be connected to the PC without any kind of adapter or dongle. For those who have Xbox Elte Controller, they can connect those to PC with the help of Xbox Accessories application that could be downloaded from the Windows app store. The gamers with Xbox Elte controllers also have the option to map as well as configure the controller with the help of the Accessories application.
Streaming Xbox One Games on PC
Once you have completed all the steps that have been mentioned above, you will be able to see a clickable button named “Stream” in the Xbox application. Clicking on that, all the games on your Xbox will start streaming on your PC. There are various settings in the app that you can play with including the streaming quality of the game.
